Important: These Terms should be reviewed by a qualified Indian lawyer before they are relied upon. They work together with our Privacy Policy.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use ReScholar. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You may close your account at any time from your profile settings.

2. The service we provide

ReScholar provides tools to write, compare, edit, and polish documents (including AI-assisted writing and review), and to publish research papers, books, and other works with a permanent, citable ReScholar ID and a cryptographic proof-of-priority record. Some features are free; others require a paid plan or credits. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Plans, credits, payments & refunds

4. Publishing, the rights you grant, and royalties

The key bargain, in plain words: You keep your copyright. By publishing on ReScholar, you let us host, display, distribute and (if you price it) sell your work, and record a proof-of-priority timestamp. When your work sells, you keep the majority share of the proceeds.

When you publish a work on ReScholar, you represent and warrant that you are the lawful creator and owner of that work (or have all necessary rights and permissions), and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, is not defamatory, and does not break any law.

You grant ReScholar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-bearing licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and make your published work available to readers through the Platform and its distribution channels, and to record its content hash and publication timestamp as proof of priority, for as long as the work remains published (and to the extent needed to keep permanent records and comply with law thereafter). This licence is non-exclusive, you remain free to publish your work elsewhere.

You retain full copyright and all moral rights. ReScholar claims no ownership of your underlying work and acts as the publisher of record for the edition you publish here.

5. Ownership of your content & our platform

You own the content you create. ReScholar owns the Platform itself, its software, design, branding, and the “ReScholar” name and marks. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the Platform or use our branding without permission.

6. AI-assisted features

ReScholar offers AI-assisted writing, review, and narration. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated or AI-assisted output before relying on or publishing it. AI output may contain errors or omissions; the AI pre-submission review is an assessment tool and is not a substitute for human peer review or professional advice. You remain the author of, and responsible for, what you publish.

Your privacy matters to us. How we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal data, and the rights you have over it, is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We process personal data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. By using the Platform you confirm you have read the Privacy Policy. You can access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer at any time, as explained there.

8. Acceptable use

9. Content moderation & takedown

We may review content and, where it breaches these Terms or the law, restrict, lock, or remove it, and we will act on valid legal notices (including copyright complaints). If you believe content on ReScholar infringes your rights, contact us at legal@rescholar.net with the details required to assess the claim.

10. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or the law, or to protect the Platform or other users. On termination, the licences you granted for already-published works, and records we must keep by law, may survive as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Proof-of-priority and timestamp records are provided to help evidence authorship and timing; they are not a substitute for formal legal registration of rights where that is required.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReScholar and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold ReScholar harmless from claims, losses, and costs arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at New Delhi, India, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
